Overlap by 75mm up to 100mm
Tape all joints on the aluminium side of the AcoustiFlex SQ with reinforced 72mm wide Aluminium tape.
The installation of AcoustiFlex SQ should be treated the same ways as a waterproof membrane.
Lay AcoustiFlex SQ aluminium facing up. Hang loose over supports rather than tight.
Nail or staple through to supports where necessary to stop excessive deflection or sagging.
AcoustiFlex SQ can be butt jointed at supports, ensuring each sheet end is nailed through to the support.
AcoustiFlex SQ butt joints to be tight fit, nailed at support and taped.
New Roof
Lay AcoustiFlex SQ aluminium facing up and hang loose, not tight over roof rafters or batten supports.
Treat like a waterproof membrane or traditional sarking material.
Ceiling Space New & Existing
Fill floor void between ceiling joist with acoustic or thermal insulation.
Lay AcoustiFlex SQ aluminium facing up and hang loose, not tight over ceiling joists supports.
All electrical cabling to be installed over the AcoustiFlex SQ. In existing ceilings, electrical cabling needs to be relocated over the AcoustiFlex SQ by a qualified electrician.
Timber Floor Space
Fill floor void between joist with acoustic or thermal insulation.
Lay aluminium facing up and hang loose, not tight over floor joists supports.
Install tongue and groove timber floorboards or yellow tongue over the AcoustiFlex SQ.
